Catering as a main ingrediency of a successful event
Refreshment is an essential part of any successful meeting, congress or conference and as the number of events in the Prague Congress Centre reaches up to 250 per year, food is a natural „Ice Breaker“ turning a formal networking into a combination of pleasure and „the necessary.“ Well, do you know a better Win-Win?

. If you have had the opportunity to see their art in a full swing at the event, then you surely understand. They are not only incredibly nice and helpful, but the food itself belongs to the top of innovative gastronomy. The general definition of the word „zátiší“as such, is the most appropriate. Zátiší (in English Still life) is an artwork that depicts inanimate objects, especially of natural origin. And really. In all different kinds of secret little corners with intriguing specialities so attractive just by their visuals and original presentation, that is Zátiší Catering. At first glance it is clear, that the refreshment is tasty, healthy, moreover the „green aspect” of the whole gastronomic symphony is also obvious.
Wasting food is a sin - that is a well-known saying and that’s why at the time when the Prague Congress Centre was looking for a catering company to shake hands with, professionality and innovation were important. These aspects match the direction and the vision of PCC towards sustainability.
Hats off, to the catering leader that can follow this vision in daily life of the catering company. Honza Šmelhaus, Managing Director of Zátiší Group, confirms that it is not an easy goal: “For us, the way towards sustainability is more about lesser meat consumption with more emphasis on seasonal and local vegetables, so-called plant-forward diet. That is why we also devote ourselves to prepare a food volume plan for each event carefully, avoiding excess food as much as possible.” Another proof of the zero-waste concept is the progressive Community fridge in the Prague Congress Centre which was created as a shared project in 2018. In the fridge employees of the PCC and companies based here can find food that was not served at an event and would normally be thrown away. Everything what would not be possible to eat elsewhere suddenly gets a second chance. The aim is to encourage the idea of waste reduction. Our best practise proved that every time something appears in the fridge it also quickly disappears. So, it is a great success this simple but brilliant idea works perfectly. Moreover, everyone has a chance to appreciate the culinary art of our colleagues from Zátiší Catering.

“on the outdoor terrace of the Prague Congress Centre. During the season, salads and refreshing lemonades were prepared from cultivated vegetables and herbs which either the visitors or the employees of the PCC could enjoy. People were always well informed about the origin of what they eat, and it made everybody happy. And it does not end with the garden as PCC’s catering partner chooses local suppliers to avoid unnecessarily high carbon footprint from the transportation.
The health and safety of our guests and staff is our top priority.
We adhere to all the safety rules and regulations that help to prevent the spread of covid-19 infection, before, during and after a catered event - including the receipt and storage of raw materials, the use of primary packaging, compliance with operational hygiene, the admission to the operation only of tested individuals, the regular disinfection of tables, chairs and inventory and the use of protective equipment in the production and preparation of food. Our staff always uses the prescribed PPE and they are all regularly tested. All items and furnishings that come into contact with our guests are regularly disinfected.
So how does sustainability change an event? No exaggerated decoration, but pure simplicity created by natural and reusable or already recycled materials. Using seasonal ingredients that are always fresher. Refreshments are served in biodegradable boxes and at some events, participants have even one dining set at their disposal, so they use it during the whole event. Did you know that you can even use it to take some more food home?
There’s Always something more
Today´s life is demanding on new and better technologies. And that does not exclude gastronomy. A popular news are the illuminated colourful desserts called NEON FOOD. To illuminate beverages vitamin B is used which phosphorescence under the UV light. Also, table mapping is popular which provides an audio-visual show taking place on guest’s plates as a prelude to a culinary experience. Clients can also have their wishes projected onto a bar in a BAR MAPPING show. What will you want to have at your event?
